Luckily for you Mancunians, Manchester will be celebrating St. Paddy’s Day this year in style. Join Mary and the gang for this free St. Paddy’s Day party at The Union Inn in Levenshulme. There will be a free concert with Mike Fox crooning some Irish classics, to be followed by a St. Paddy’s disco in celebration of Manchester Irish Festival’s 25th anniversary. Not to be missed.
If getting tanked up on an infinite amount of stout – among other drinks – is your thing, then Revolution on Deansgate Locks are hosting a bottomless brunch to get you in the festive mood. Slots can be booked via Skiddle. Remember to wear green!
Bierkeller are hosting a St Paddy’s Day weekender from Friday 13 – Tuesday 17 March. The entire venue will be adorned in Irish decor, and there will also be a special St. Paddy’s offer: £10 for an Irish pie and Guinness.
If all that St Patrick’s Day partying has made you work up an appetite, get yourself down to the Hard Rock Cafe. Between Friday 13 and Wednesday 18 March, they’ll be serving up a limited edition steak cheeseburger topped with Jameson bacon jam and Guinness cheese sauce. As if that wasn’t enough, you can wash it all down with their St Paddy’s Day shake made with creamy vanilla ice cream, Oreo cookies and a touch of mint.
Kicking off with an afternoon of live music on Friday 13 March courtesy of Ronan Keating’s guitarist Jimmy Docherty, city centre Irish bar Waxy O’Connor’s will keep the party going by screening the Wales V Scotland match on Saturday. Once you’ve enjoyed the parade on Sunday, you can head back to the venue to hear some more live music and indulge in some Irish favourites like Homemade Irish Stew. On the big day itself, you can get a photo of yourself printed on the top of your Guinness pint, while Waxy’s dishes out a handful of Guinness give-aways alongside more live music until late.
Manchester has a rich variety of authentic Irish pubs in the city centre. Some of these include – though not limited to – Waxy O’Connor’s, Mulligans, Kielys Irish Bar, Fiddlers Green, The Lass O’ Gowrie and Duffy’s Bar – so you’re certainly spoiled for choice when it comes to places to celebrate St Patrick’s Day 2020 in Manchester.

What better way to kick start the St Patrick’s Day festivities than with a parade? The Manchester Irish Festival team will be bringing this colourful celebration of all things Ireland through town between 11am – 2pm on Sunday 15 March, promising a party atmosphere that will start at the Irish World Heritage Centre and continue up Deansgate, ending near the Science and Industry Museum on Liverpool Road.
