From fun-filled children’s gigs to poignant meditations on outdoor swimming, The Edge’s upcoming summer programme offers a diverse slate of acclaimed shows and performances to suit every age and taste.

Mum's The Word Comedy Club | Fri 9 Jun | 1pm | £12/£10 (under-18 months free)

Specially curated for parents and newborns – or any family members with a qualifying baby in tow –  comedian and mother Katie Mulgrew hosts a laid-back afternoon of adult-oriented comedy in a welcoming environment where feeding, changing and nursing is permitted – and there’s no pressure to apologetically bundle screaming toddlers through an emergency exit.

MiniFest: A Gig for Kids | Sun 11 Jun | 11am | £8/£6

Perfect for children and parents alike, MiniFest features a live set of original songs written specifically to stimulate young minds and encourage physical activity, alongside a selection of familiar favourites, played by the Artful Playground Band. From rock to rap, the family-friendly festival promises something for everyone, including guaranteed infant exhaustion by late afternoon.

SWIM | Thu 15 - Fri 16 Jun | 7.30pm | £15/£13

A show about swimming, community and holding one another, Liz Richardson’s tender autofiction SWIM blends live music, projection and ‘rich physicality’ (The Stage) in a soulful celebration of human connection. Returning to her native Lake District village following a long period of city living, Richardson rediscovers the profound, vital joy and spiritual rejuvenation of outdoor swimming after her small community is rocked by tragedy.
