To entertain your little ones whilst keeping their brains active, a nice idea is to turn to arts and crafts. There’s a whole load of crafting info out there to help you and we have scoured YouTube to find three of the best resources…

Simple Kids Crafts

This very popular channel promises five-minute activities for all. The crafting is mostly based around dolls, such as Barbie and My Little Pony. Children can learn how to make different kinds of clothes and dollhouse accessories for them. Other videos include guides to making paper flowers and improving drawing skills. They proudly publicise that they release a new video twice a week, but there’s more than enough on there already to keep your kids amused for all eternity.

Jo Nakashima Origami

A YouTube veteran, Nakashima has been uploading videos since 2007. In that time, he has created many hundreds of fun tutorials to help you learn the ancient art of origami. You’ll find simple one-sheet classics like paper planes and boats and more complex creations like flowers, animals and even emojis so there’s bound to be some that suit your youngsters’ skill level. However, it’s probably best not to bother with the ones that use toilet paper.

5-Minute Crafts PLAY

Another major channel, 5-Minute Crafts PLAY has 2000 videos with almost 3.5 billion total views. Handily, they have just created a Stay at Home playlist especially for the zeitgeist. There, you’ll find plenty of simple tutorials for crafts using paper and card and also some fun cooking ideas. One video presents some quick activities aimed at those on a tight budget. There are some other useful playlists that feature experiments, tricks and ideas for decorations.
