Following the latest announcement of a second lockdown, this November the show must go on(line) at HOME, where it has recently been announced that all of their theatre shows set to take place this month will go virtual, live-streamed from HOME’s Theatre 1 stage. This means that whilst you cannot see the shows in person, you can still enjoy them from the comfort of your own home, without even having to get changed out of your pyjamas. HOME will also be making a selection of films available to watch online, as well as bringing their three new exhibitions to the public eye via the HOME website. Don’t miss out on the exciting line up and take a look at our top picks below…

The Believers Are But Brothers | Fri 6 Nov | Pay What You Can

Focused on writer/producer Javaad Alipoor’s experiences with how ISIS and the alt-right use the internet in their radicalisation techniques, The Believers Are But Brothers offers an interesting look on how the web is one of the biggest tools used to bring power in the 21st century. Highlighting the dystopian world we currently live in, this show is unmissable for those who want to take a deeper look into the workings of the world and the internet.

High Rise eState of Mind | Wed 18 & Thu 19 Nov | 7.30pm | Pay What You Can

This new, exciting show takes an insight into the grim realities of what some young people have to face when dealing with class and housing, and the worries and frustrations that often come along for the ride. Presenting these issues through grime, hip-hop and beatboxing, the show features performer and beatboxer Conrad Murray, rapper Gambit Ace, and spoken word artist Lakeisha Lynch Steven, as well as other talented performers. This one is on for two days, so there’s plenty of time to tune in and watch.

A Grand Auction of my Life | Fri 27 Nov | 7.30pm | Pay What You Can

Manchester-based performer David Hoyle is turning HOME’s theatre stage into an auction room in this virtual show. Selling off his most prized artefacts – including a song, a jacket potato, a family member and even some fog – Hoyle will be selling his treasured memories in what is literally the grand auction of his life. Unusual and unexpected – this is definitely not one to miss.
