The ever-delectable Dulcimer serves up another tip-top week of lively events to get involved with. Here are five of the best goings-on there this week, with quizzes, DJs, and plenty of excellent live music.
With winding folk narratives and catchy tunes, Sam Jefferson’s blues numbers have taken him to national radio airplay and touring across the country. You can catch him this Wednesday in the intimate setting of Dulcimer’s upstairs space.
South Manchester’s finest Open Mic returns to Dulcimer this Thursday, welcoming performers from all around the city to try out fresh originals and canonical classics. Sign up on the night to take part, or join the supportive crowd.
Music is provided this Friday night by Stutter and Twitch, an excellent local label who ignite their DJ sets with the best of funk, soul, and more.
Dulcimer plays host to a night celebrating Balkan and Roma music, performed by the brilliant Rubber Duck Orchestra. The 7-piece collective of musicians will be joined by special guests Sanja Cin — who will share vocal duties with the orchestra’s Lis Murphy — as well as Liverpool’s Sweet Charabanc. The dance floor will rumble for this one — not to be missed!
