Set right in the heart of Sale in Trafford, Waterside Arts includes a theatre, art galleries, studios and workspaces. The venue has unveiled an excellent series of family-friendly events across half term, including film screenings, live theatre and art workshops, with discount tickets available to members. There’s a very reasonably priced car park located just next door, and all in all, it’s a great place to check out.

Jack & The Beanstalk | Mon 11 Feb | 1.30pm | £7 – £9
The fairy-tale classic gets the Lyngo Theatre treatment as Cbeebies’ Patrick Lynch tells the tale of Jack, 5 magic beans and the land above the clouds. Suitable for ages 3 and over, expect enormous shoes, tiny houses, showers of silver and gold and “a big leafy explosion”.

Those Magnificent Men | Thu 14 Feb | 7.30pm | £10 – £12
Chocks away! Written by acclaimed duo Mitchell & Nixon, this hit play looks into the nail-biting, side-splitting true story of a daredevil flight from Newfoundland to Ireland by Mancunians pilot Capt. John Alcock and navigator Lt. Arthur Whitten Brown.

Saturday Art Club | Sat 16 Feb | 10am | £1 – £2.50
Each month Waterside open their doors early Saturday morning for their drop-in art club for families, recommended for those aged 4+.

This superhero thriller, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, was frequently noted as one of the best films of 2018. Rated 12A.

Drop in for another instalment of the competitive comedy show, this time aged for those 7 and above so those a bit older get to join in with the fun.

Jump into a wild and wonderful adventure of bobble hats, scarves and tents that have a life of their own as Four Go Wild in Wellies takes a playful look at the negotiation of social structures, whilst having lots of fun in wellies.
