Dust the cobwebs off your dancing shoes and… use them in your fancy dress costume for a special Halloween-themed Levy night market on Friday 30 October. The social enterprise and Levenshulme-based market usually runs on a Saturday, but for this special occasion they’re opening after work on Friday for a night of ghoulish fun. This special Spooktakular includes live music by Cosmic Ray & The Constellations to get the local ghouls grooving as the dusk descends. Everyone (kids especially) are encouraged to wear fancy dress. And whether you’re a mummy, a zombie, a witch or a werewolf, the pumpkin carving competition is open for all comers. These seasonal bonuses complement the Levy Market’s usual mix of local traders and entertainment. The market’s stall holders will be in the spirit of things too, with Those Four (bar tenders) serving creepy cocktails to Oh My Glaze‘s chicken creations. There’s plenty more on offer too, in the car park behind Levenshulme Station. As per usual, regular Saturday markets will run from 10am-4pm on 17 & 24 October, themed on fashion and flea and anything and everything respectively. There will be no Saturday market on Halloween (31 Oct) itself, with the market returning to usual on Saturday 7 November.
