It’s big news for Manchester’s food lovers, as Hawksmoor is set to open a restaurant this March. Launched by Will Beckett and Huw Gott in 2003, Hawksmoor became famous for its thick-cut steaks and award-winning cocktails – and is now recognised as one of the best restaurant brands in the UK. All its meat comes from ethically reared, grass-fed traditional breeds. The company currently has six London locations (including the one pictured) – but as testament to our burgeoning fine dining scene, the owners have chosen Manchester for the first venture outside of the capital. The venue will officially open on Thursday 5 March, which puts the famous steakhouse head-to-head in the opening game with Iberica which is set to open on Wednesday 4 March. Before Hawksmoor opens ‘proper’, there will be a two week, soft launch period, during which those who register in advance can qualify for 50% off their food bill. This is a hot deal as a steak to share can set you back the best part of £100 at the restaurant’s other outlets in London. Hawksmoor Manchester’s soft opening will be Thursday 19 February to Wednesday 4 March. Sign up here before midnight on Monday 26 January and the instructions to book will be sent on Tuesday 27 January at 11am.
