When August finally rolls around there will be a dearth of comedy on the ground and you shall rue the missed chances to see the myriad preview shows that have been workshopped and perfected over the last few months. When they take place in July they are as near to ready as they ever will be, so you’d be mad to miss out on the cracking double bill at Affleck’s Palace’s Three Minute Theatre as Hayley Ellis (pictured) brings her show We Need To Talk About Kevin – dealing with her dog and not a psychopathic teenage son – and the mirth and misery of Rachel Fairburn with her debut Edinburgh show All The Fun Of The Fairburn. Featuring two of Manchester’s best comedians, this is possibly your last chance to see them before they hit the streets of Edinburgh. Hosted by very funny gentleman Brennan Reece, it is a must-see for comedy fans who can’t make it past Hadrian’s Wall this August.
