A mesmerising new show that combines the arts of juggling and magic comes to Lowry this month.

Heka is the new production from Gandini Juggling, and is named after the Egyptian goddess of magic. Drawing inspiration from the intricate connection between the two mediums, Heka promises to transport audiences into a ‘realm where reality blurs with illusion’.

Embracing elements of contemporary choreography, the show reimagines magic through the lens of repetition, counterpoint, and misdirection. Infused with a captivating blend of humour and philosophy, spectators will witness objects materialise, vanish, levitate and transform before their eyes, questioning what is real, and what is merely a trick of perception.

Heka sees director Sean Gandini, whose artistic journey began in Havana half a century ago, revisit his magical roots in a special and wildly unique hybrid piece that challenges conventional notions of performance, and invites viewers to reconsider the ritual of spectactorship and its impact on satisfaction.

Heka comes to Lowry on Sun 11 May. Tickets are on sale now, grab your using the button below.
