Returning this September, Heritage Open Days, England’s largest festival of history and culture, will invite the public into some of Manchester’s most iconic landmarks.
Each year, volunteers and institutions around Manchester and its surrounding areas organise and host an array of fascinating, free, one-off events, tours and workshops around the city’s most significant buildings and spaces.
Events will be running from Fri 6 Sep – Sun 15 Sep, and include everything from film screenings at Chorlton Lodge in Alexandra Park and climbing the towers at St James with St Thomas Church to a tree tour along Castlefield Viaduct and open weekend at Victoria Baths.
Other confirmed highlights include an open day at Salford Solar Farm, the largest public sector-owned solar farm in the North West, a special musical performance at Cheshire’s National Waterways Museum and guided tours of Rochdale Old Fire Station.
