Following the hugely successful performance tHE bAD earlier this year at HOME, Israeli dancer Hofesh Shechter is back. As ever, his choreography relies upon the elegance and uncomfortableness of intimacy, but this time, there is no set. Brave. A lighting design will carve through the space as the dancers combine through baroque-inspired choreography to trance-like underground groove. The performance seamlessly brings together these varying styles through the three very different elements to the trilogy: the barbarians in love, a reprise of tHE bAD, with two completely different angles of the same fucking thing concluding the evening. Hofesh Shechter’s reputation precedes him. His work receives critical acclaim, the previous visit to HOME was one of my personal cultural highlights of last year. Being performed over only three nights, this is one not to be missed.
