If the mark of a man is the company he keeps, the marks of a band going places are the shows that they’re given support slots on. You might not have heard much about Holy Esque yet, but they’ve already been on tour with The Raveonettes, played SXSW and had a couple of shows with Haim. As the NME-approved Glasgow act loop round the country, Tru Luv have convinced them to stop off for their first headline show in Manchester – though it almost certainly won’t be their last. Their sound is one that you can imagine the playlisters at Radio One approaching warmly if they’re feeling in a particularly guitar-y mood, bringing melody and a certain Scottish drawl that always draws the crowds – but don’t believe us, have a listen to their debut, eponymous EP here. Support comes from Liverpool shoegaze outfit Tear Talk and new Manchester upstarts Veladrome.
