The heart is deceitful above all things is the inaugural exhibition at HOME, Manchester’s new and improved centre for international contemporary art, theatre and film. Curated by Sarah Perks and Omar Kholeif, this exhibition explores the notion of love lost or love turned sour, in a daunting fusion of regret, desire, and downright heartbreak. Featuring six new remarkable commissions alongside the significant existing works, it will include eleven internationally recognized artists, including: Jeremy Bailey, Declan Clarke, Douglas Coupland, Irina Gheorghe, Flaka Haliti, Ragnar Kjartansson, Basim Magdy, Gemma Parker, Zina Saro-Wiwa, Jessey Tsang and Wu-Tsang. Expect regret tattoos, spy-era stalking and phone-based apps.

Fri 22 May – Sun 26 July, HOME, 2, Tony Wilson Place, First Street, Manchester, M15 4FN. Tel: 0161 200 1500, 7.30pm -11pm (Fri 22 only, then times vary), FREE, www.homemcr.org
