Proving once again that HOME is where the art is, the venue recently announced the full line-up for the Incoming Festival, which takes place in June. A multi-city event, its aim is to showcase up-and-coming theatre companies from the UK and Ireland, with tickets priced at just a fiver. This year’s line-up was curated by panel including theatre writer Lynn Gardner, The Stage’s Fergus Morgan and the editorial teams behind Critics of Colour and Exeunt Magazine. Top picks include Police Cops, who will present their new black comedy ‘Badass Be Thy Name’, a gritty drama which turns into a horror epic about vampire slaying. A standout among festival first timers is Strictly Arts, who will be presenting ‘Freeman’, a play which examines the link between mental health and systemic racism, which was a hit at the Edinburgh Fringe. Several of the companies will also be hosting public workshops.
