With HOME’s Black History Month celebrations firmly in full swing, a showcase of local musical talent will take to the stage for a special edition of Sound Sessions.

A trio of Black artists from across the North West will perform live in Theatre 1 on December 11, as the venue’s comprehensive Black-led programme continues to flourish.

Appearing on the evening, complete with a live band, will be Yemi Bolatiwa, a London-born soul singer who has frequented Manchester’s live music scene for some time now. Bolatiwa combines RnB melodies and soulful vocals with Hip-hop, DnB and Garage-inspired grooves.

Joining her will be SheBeKeke, whose work has been presented at iconic venues including Tate Modern, Blue Dot Festival and Glastonbury. Finally, Zahyón, who will also perform alongside a live band, completes the billing—a Nigerian-born, Manchester-based singer/songwriter who recently gained a spot on The Voice UK, where he was coached by none other than Sir Tom Jones.
