An emotional, reality-bending new production told through the perspective of a ghost comes to Lowry this April.

HOMECOMING blends storytelling, dynamic choreography, and cutting-edge technology to trace the journey of a woman on a quest to reconnect with her lost sense of self.

Guided by The Watcher, an eternal being who helps those who have slipped through the cracks, the lead character retraces her memories as she uncovers a path out of oblivion.

Combining a stunning and poignant live performance with immersive interactive projections, the show viscerally journeys between two worlds, exploring themes of disconnection, the cathartic joy of rediscovering oneself and the slow process of rebuilding after the burnout.

There are two ways to experience HOMECOMING: as an immersive theatre performance that merges live performance with digital elements, or as a VR experience in Lowry’s lobby. In the VR experience, you step into the role of the ghost, unlocking the story through your own movement.

The show comes from Choreographer and Stage Director, Georgia Tegou and Visual Artist Krisina Pulejkova. Georgia’s previous work has been presented by organisations such as Dance Umbrella International Festival, Sadler’s Wells, the Royal Opera House, Onassis Stegi, the Greek National Opera and the Venice Biennale of Architecture.

Krisina’s interdisciplinary practice is informed by science and technology, and her works have been exhibited/screened at the The Science Museum, The V&A, Royal College of Arts, Lewisham Art House and Art Licks Festival, amongst many others.

HOMECOMING comes to Lowry Tue 1 Apr. Tickets to both the show and VR experience can be booked below.
