Homobloc returns to Depot Mayfield this November, marking the iconic festival’s fifth edition.
This time out, the inclusive block party’s bill will be topped by Christine and the Queens. Also performing, will be London-born hyperpop favourite Shygirl who presents her latest Club Shy project, Swedish singer and record producer COBRAH making her Manchester debut and the rhythm shifting sounds of Olof Dreijer from The Knife.
Following a performance at this year’s Glastonbury, Moonchild Sanelly will take to the Homobloc stage, alongside queer Manchester rapper OneDa, Chinese producer and artist Alice Longyu Gao and a special collab between Pxssy Palace and rapper Mykki Blacno.
Elsewhere, there’ll be DJ sets from Job Jobse b2b Saoirse, 2manydjs b2b Confidence Man DJs, Tiga, HorsegiirL, HAAi, Chloé Caillet and Horse Meat Disco, with live sets from I.Jordan, Christeene and LSDXOXO.
The party will be spread across three main stages — Depot, Concourse and Archive — plus additional stages across Temperance Street, the historical Star & Garter Pub and the Loft – a unique space up on the rooftop of Depot Mayfield.
The Loft welcomes an intimate takeover curated by Homoelectric with Studio 54 icon Nicky Siano sharing the decks with Prosumer, Kath McDermott and Jamie Bull.
This year’s lineup also features an array of new and emerging global underground LGBTQ artists, spanning genres from experimental pop and electronica, to techno, hardcore and punk.
Sophie Bee, Homobloc Creative Director, comments: “It’s been a wild ride since the party started in 2019. The festival production has evolved so much and we’ve gone from half of Manchester plus the kitchen sink on stage, to choreographed pieces with global touring artists.
“Our research and development design team based at Islington Mill has been a place for experimentation allowing space for people’s imagination to flourish. It’s an honour to work on a collaborative, loving, fun spectacle, with such innovative producers from mixed art forms. This year there are some really beautiful production moments that we can’t wait to share with all our family, friends and community.”
Homobloc 2024 will be happening on Sat 9 Nov. Pre-sale tickets will be live on Thu 15 Aug at 10am. General sale will be live on Fri 16 Aug at 10am.
