Honour – a free event set be the biggest outdoor commemoration in the region marking the centenary of World War I – will feature an artistic tribute created by visual, performance, and musical artists working in collaboration. Taking over the Piazza outside MediaCityUK , the centrepiece will include a choir of hundreds of local people setting the poems and stories from the conflict to song. In addition to the evening event, there will also be a range of daytime activities co-ordinated by the Imperial War Museum North and other venues at the Quays. Honour is part of a range of events taking place around Salford Quays this summer, including canal cruises, sporting events, and artisan food markets.
