Hope Mill Theatre brings a special musical retelling of A Christmas Carol to The Lowry this festive period.

Promising to bring Dickens’ famous story to life with ‘true Broadway spectacle’, the show will begin its run on Fri 6 Dec, making it the perfect night out to really ignite that Christmas spirit for the entire family.

The show will be brought to life by the impressive duo of Alan Menken (Disney’s Beauty And The Beast, The Little Mermaid, Newsies, Little Shop Of Horrors) and Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime, Seussical, Once On This Island).

Claire Moore, whose previous credits include The Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Les Misérables, Oliver!, The King and I, The Great British Bake Off Musical and Calendar Girls, will take on the lead role of Scrooge in the production.

She previously starred alongside Kelsey Grammer in the 2004 TV version of the musical as Mrs Fezziwig. Commenting on her role, Claire said: “I am so excited to be invited to play one of Charles Dickens’ most iconic characters, Scrooge, in A Christmas Carol the Musical. I am especially delighted to be portraying Scrooge as a woman; the first time this has been done in this version of the story…”
