The only museum in the country dedicated to telling the story of women’s suffrage has been forced to close its doors… temporarily. However, you can still help this esteemed institution by becoming a Friend of The Pankhurst Centre, from as little as £3 per month. There are three tiers of membership, with the fittingly suffragette-themed colours of Green, White and Purple. Friends are given priority access to future events and activities, as well as receiving a quarterly newsletter. More importantly, the funds go directly towards supporting the work of the Centre and maintenance of this historic building. The venue is also home to Manchester Women’s Aid, a registered charity which provides a range of support for those suffering domestic violence and abuse. These services are still in operation and are particularly vital during this lockdown period. To make a donation to Women’s Aid and/or become a Pankhurst Friend, please click here.
