Acclaimed performance collective Clod Ensemble invites you to glimpse into their unusual glass containers at The Lowry this October. Under Glass is a walk-through production, with a series of museum-like humans caught inside confined situations: a woman inside a jam jar; a couple in a Petri dish bed; a man in a humdrum office; a phone-caller inside a test tube watching the village around her. You’ll come within inches of the performers as they cope with life inside containers in what promises to be an unforgettably clinical metaphor about living within limits. Following a sold-out appearance at Village Underground in Shoreditch, Under Glass comes to Salford in association with Manchester Science Festival. For those wanting to lift the lid on this touring production, there will be a free post-show talk for ticket holders after Thursday’s showings. Clod Ensemble has built a reputation for an almost medical inspection of human movement, such as last year’s lauded immersive dance performance, An Anatomie in Four Quarters.
