Chris Thorpe is a writer and performer from Manchester, as well as a founding member of theatre company Unlimited. His previous works with poet Hannah Jane Walker includes The Oh Fuck Moment, a critically acclaimed, high-witted poetry performance – and now they collaborate again on I Wish I Was Lonely. It explores the increasingly blasé attitude towards our approach with human relationships, owed to the hyper-connectivity of gadgets, and what true longing means when we’re very rarely disconnected from another person. This will be an interactive experience involving the pair and the audience. The show received four stars across the board at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe, with the Guardian describing it as ‘so cunningly and playfully constructed that it feels like a gift’.
