Imarhan hit the ground running in 2016 with the release of their eponymous debut album, a tender and soulful affair setting out their vision as leaders of the “new wave of Tuared music”. Two years later, the desert rock five-piece are back with latest release ‘Temet’; a genre-blending collection of funk, fuzz, disco and rock, combining meditative songwriting, hypnotic African rhythms, mellow blues and fiery riffs. Singing in the Tamashek language, their latest album is driven by a mission statement for an “energetic wake up call for unity” in divisive times. In support of the acclaimed new record, the Algeria natives are Band On The Wall-bound, visiting on 8 September during their latest European tour. Catch the sonic explorers in the flesh at the Swan Street venue this summer.
