Immerse yourself in the splendour of Lightwaves 2019 at Salford Quays this winter by stepping inside a stunning collection of playful lights and illuminated spectaculars. Running from Friday 6 December until Sunday 15 December, this free illumination installation welcomes all ages to present an event that’s perfect for the whole family to enjoy in the run up to Christmas. Lightwaves is all about bringing world class digital art to Manchester, and by the look of 2019’s line up, it seems like this year’s edition might be its most impressive yet. Set to brighten up the event is the Light Orchestra – an interactive experience that invites you to create your own sounds and light, as well as Wavefield – a unique playground where you can sit and play on seesaws with a twist: these seesaws are illuminated – and as if that wasn’t enough, they’re musical too. There will be plenty of other beautiful instalments and activities, alongside a festive trail that you can follow by downloading the Lightwaves app. So wrap up warm, head down to Salford Quays and let this unique event light up your festivities this year.
