Taking to the streets of Manchester this week is Mystery Bird – an art installation touring Salford and the city centre. Created by artists across the North-West, the Mystery Bird is a huge birdcage filled with projected birds which will be released to “fly” across the buildings and trees of Greater Manchester. If you can’t make it to see the ‘birds’ yourself, there’s a free Instagram filter, designed in collaboration with artist Jack Hardiker for you to enjoy from your own home. Alternatively, you can watch the magic come to life in your living room, as streams of the tour will be posted online. The tour will take place over four days in December, but locations are being kept under wraps in order to ensure social distancing is maintained. Be sure to keep a look out for the Mystery Bird and its accompanying bespoke soundscape when you’re out and about in Manchester this month!
