Confingo Magazine and Slowdancers are hosting a night called In Light of Sound, comprised of avant garde music and art. The venue is Sways Records’ new club, currently going by the name (and postcode) M3 7LW, at a former engineering works, adjacent to Sways’ other venue, The Bunker. The team loved the building’s acoustics so much that they converted it into a performance space. The evening will begin with wine and spoken word performances, and the gig proper will showcase only the finest in industrial drone and psychedelia. Headlining is Chicaloyoh, a solo project from French multi-instrumentalist and singer Alice Dourlen. Also performing are The Swamps, TOOMS, Terrine and achmel vich. On the arty front, there will be dance and interactive installations. The venue is a short walk from Victoria Station, close to Strangeways – and we can think of few better occasions to check it out.
