Promising to be a highlight of The Edge Theatre’s unmissable 2024 season, In the Time of Dragons brings riotous action, heartwarming comedy and irresistible original musical numbers to Chorlton from Mon 19 Feb – Sat 9 Mar.

Written and directed by The Edge’s CEO and Artistic Director, Janine Waters, the brand new feel-good production follows the parallel timelines of jobbing Deansgate cabaret singer Sheelagh and music teacher Jack, who respectively occupy the same Salford flat in 1965 and 2024. One fateful night, a violent Mancunian storm batters the building and, thanks to some wildly unsafe electrical wiring, a rare phenomenon causes an impossible temporal collapse which unites past and present, leaving two unlikely roommates to search for answers.

Brimming with inventive tunes, whip-smart humour and timeless human endearment, In the Time of Dragons provides an uplifting message of hope with a crackling script and star performances from a cast of decorated actors, including Tom Guest (Cold Feet, Father Christmas is Back), Rupert Hill (Coronation Street, The Bill, Casualty), Megan Keaveny (Artist Unknown, Liminal Spaces) and more.
