The increasingly popular bar and restaurant, 202 Kitchen, has announced that it will be moving to a bigger, permanent location in Manchester’s city centre. Currently residing in a temporary pink pop-up space on Bridge Street, 202 Kitchen first opened its doors to the Manchester public back in August, where its ‘trapbox’ concept and vibrant, Insta-worthy setting meant that it swiftly rose to popularity in record time. The ‘trapbox’ concept is a rising trend in foodie culture, and involves piling various cultural foods – such as seafood, mac’n’cheese, waffles and burgers – into one metal box, offering a unique twist on food serving which was spearheaded by new chefs as a way to showcase their work on social media.

The restaurant is also an Instagram hotspot and celebrity favourite, with stars such as Coronation Street’s Kimberly Hart-Simpson enjoying the delicious food and quirky backdrops that have featured in many an Instagram photo. There’s more to look forward to as well, as the move comes with an expanded menu, adding light bites and small plates for when you don’t quite fancy a full meal. With Instagrammable photo opportunities and tasty treats, 202 Kitchen’s move to a permanent restaurant will come as exciting news to its frequent customers. However at the time of writing, exact details of the venue’s new home are still under wraps, so be sure to check back soon for more details.
