The Lowry’s autumn programme of digital art includes a live music and art performance by Franck Vigroux (music) and Kurt d’Haeseleer (video). Known to the art world as Franck and Hans, Centaure was first performed at international arts festival MUTEK in 2016. This one-off date at the Lowry is the first chance for Manchester audiences to witness the artists’ digital exploration of a dystopic future. Our relationship with genetic science resides at the core of the piece, making for a thrilling if unsettling journey into what lies (or what could lie) ahead for mankind. Meet cloned creatures and mutations in a performance that’s described by The Lowry’s Digital Programmer, Lucy Dusgate as ‘beautiful, disturbing, empowering and overpowering’. Listen to Dusgate’s full interview below, and read our full preview here.
