Thursday is IPA Day, where beer fanatics will be joining in a global toast to one of the world’s favourite craft beer styles. For those not in with the lingo, IPA stands for India Pale Ale, and it has become one of the world’s most popular types of beer, slowly elbowing its daintier little brother, lager, right out of the way – with no hint of remorse or mercy. IPA is kind of a big deal these days, so head down to Port Street Beer House to celebrate with the best folk for the job, who are gallantly stepping up to commemorate this special day with a wide range of tipples including IPAs from The Kernel, Alpha State, Northern Monk, Magic Rock and To Øl – who will also be providing a Double India Pale Ale, no less. Rumbling bellies will be hushed by food from Barnhouse Bistro, who are serving up some tasty burgers from 6pm. Happy IPA Day!
