Ishmael Ensemble’s Yellow Magic Orchestra is set to present their vivdly ambient jazz and electronica to an audience at Manchester’s Band on the Wall. Led by Bristolian saxophonist Pete Cunningham, the band’s pensive sonics meander and undulate as much as they lay down infectious beats. It’s a visceral experience on record, with debut EP Songs For Knotty acting as critically acclaimed evidence. Attendees in their live arena, can also expect a reinterpretation of Japanese electronica combo Yellow Magic Orchestra’s samples and loops breakthrough album, Technodelic.
