After the success of their Wimbledon screenings a few weeks back, the folks at MediaCity are back at it again, this time hoping to cheer on England Women’s football team to glory at the European Championships in Sweden. With the opening game being shown on BBC One, it will be relayed to the big screen at the sun-soaked piazza, where the Women’s Super League Roadshow will be providing entertainment from 4pm onwards. Though the men’s team may be kings of the world, Hope Powell’s ladies will be hoping that Spain won’t quite reach the tiki-taka heights of their male equivalents. With the Premier League not back for another month or so, this should be a real chance for the nation to finally get fully behind our consistently excellent female football team.
