J Dilla Changed My Life w Mr Scruff + Kidkanevil at Ruby Lounge

For the third year running, the Manchester equivalent of London’s J Dilla Changed My Life party commandeers the first weekend in February. A celebration of the life and work of James Yancey aka J Dilla (pictured), who passed away in 2006, the event sees a host of nights joining forces to raise money for the J Dilla Foundation and Lupus UK. Detroit rapper Phat Kat returns on hosting duties, London’s Spin Doctor will be giving the night a bit of a twist with an AV set and Mr Scruff will be spinning an early doors breaks set of tracks Dilla sampled. Joining Kidkanevil on DJ duties will be representatives from Manc club nights Hoya Hoya, In The Loop, Taste the Diff’rence and Juicy.
