Band On The Wall play host to jazz supergroup Bokanté who will perform material from their upcoming (and much anticipated) sophomore album, What Heat. Following on from debut album Strange Circles, the new record sees the group take a huge leap forward as they collaborate with the world-renowned Metropole Orkest, the largest full-time ensemble of its kind in the world. The group were founded by musician and composer Michael League, know for his work with the Grammy Award-winning and much revered instrumental jazz collective Snarky Puppy. With roots blues and jazz complimented by singer Malika Tirolien’s distinctive Creole/French lyrics, their new music has found fans with lush orchestration backed up by strong, socially relevant messages. Attracting players from across the globe, uniting different genders and races from five countries and four continents, members are united as a “force for change against a rising tide of exclusion and indifference in a world that is, well, reaching boiling point”.
