New York-based trio House of Waters bring their worldly jazz to Band on the Wall as part of an eight-date European tour this May. As an instrumental outfit, their dialogue is through eloquent polyrhythmic dexterity, with flurries of bass, drums and hammered dulcimer prowess. House of Waters’ virtuosity in their craft is not dissimilar to recent touring buddies Snarky Puppy, but by melding Asian and African influences into New York jazz foundations, theirs is a tangent of their own to behold.

Sun 20 May, Band on the Wall, 25 Swan Street, Northern Quarter, Manchester, M4 5JZ, Tel: 0161 834 1786, 7.30pm, £8-£12, www.bandonthewall.org
