Award-winning novelist Kamila Shamsie visits Manchester’s Centre For New Writing to discuss her acclaimed work this Monday. A star entry on the Granta list of top young novelists, Shamsie is the author of five novels, including the Orange Prize for Fiction shortlister Burnt Shadows and her debut novel In The City, which won her the Prime Minister’s Award for Literature in Pakistan, where she grew up. Also a reviewer and columnist for The Guardian, Shamsie will have plenty to share as she sits down with the centre’s recently appointed Professor of Creative Writing, Jeanette Winterson. Free wine and Blackwell’s discounts are included in the ticket price.
