This spring, world-renowned space museum and research centre Jodrell Bank hosts a delightfully diverse programme of interstellar entertainment guaranteed to inspire and excite amateur astronauts and cosmic kids alike, from astrophotography exhibitions and workshops to captivating space dome shows and dazzling demonstrations.

Taking place for one night only on Wed 2 Apr, the Next Steps Astrophotography masterclass gives budding space snappers the chance to elevate their technique and transform celestial photos into gorgeous works of art, with a classroom-based session which includes a demonstration of industry-standard software and a talk by Dr. Anthony Holloway. On Wed 9 and 16 Apr, curious cosmonauts are invited on a spellbinding journey to mysterious new worlds with Ted’s Space Adventure, a special planetarium show celebrating the boundless magic of space with music, rhyme and interactive fun, as star-hopping bear Ted and his loyal companion plant chart a course across the universe to discover more about the things we find in the cosmos and how they affect us. Available to book for just £5, the immersive dome show The Great Solar System Adventure envelops guests in the staggering grandeur and deadly power of our stellar neighbourhood. Led by maestro showman The Great Schiaparelli, the daring adventure crosses dazzling frontiers beyond the edge of our planet, from the molten climes of Mercury to the icy surface of Pluto, with fascinating pit-stops at every red rock, gas giant and water world along the way. Elsewhere, the dome runs regular spring screenings of CAP COM GO!, a breathtaking short film which allows intrepid cosmonauts of all ages to experience their own lunar expedition in the heart of the Cheshire countryside, as the 360-degree auditorium blasts off in an audiovisual replication of the 1969 Apollo 11 mission.
