Jodrell Bank prepares for lift-off with an incredible autumn half term programme

Promising a fun-filled and fascinating schedule of spacefaring adventures for the whole family, Jodrell Bank presents a programme of time-travelling wonder, expert explanations and immersive odysseys this half term.

Open every day during the holidays, Jodrell Bank invites stargazers of all ages to discover the breathtaking First Light Pavilion, look out into the cosmos, take in views of the colossal Lovell Telescope from the on-site cafes and even learn the foundations of rocket science.

Open until Wed 13 Dec with shows at 11am and 3pm every weekday and 2.30pm on weekends, the We Are Stars Space Dome show invites astronauts aged 5 and up on a mesmerising journey backwards in time, as interdimensional audiences discover the origins of the universe and explore the biggest mysteries of our reality through spellbinding animation.

Alongside We Are Stars, the Jodrell Bank dome also presents CAP COM GO!, an awe-inspiring short film which allows astral adults and cosmic kids alike to relive the 1969 Apollo 11 mission with breathtaking video projected in 360 degrees.

Throughout half-term, budding rocketeers can Meet The Expert and ask all the space-related questions imaginable, with no query too big or small, and listen to mind-blowing revelations about life, the universe and everything both virtually and in-person throughout the day.

Running from October into the new year, Jodrell Bank’s Astro Night for Kids offers an unmissable opportunity for young astronomers to launch their interstellar adventure with another Space Dome journey, astronaut dress-up, the chance to walk on the moon, get hands-on with telescopes and binoculars and even make a scale-model comet to take home.

October tickets to Astro Night are sold out, but you can kick off the new year with a booking to the next event on Sat 13 Jan.
