Doesn’t time fly when you’re having fun? Gorilla, the newest Trof venue (ignoring Albert Hall’s brief opening-then-closing), celebrates its first birthday on Friday 9 August with a big ol’ party. Since opening, Gorilla has played host to dozens of great nights and shows featuring the likes of Everything Everything, Dutch Uncles, Steve Mason and College – plus last week’s Raekwon-hosted Wu-Tang Clan aftershow party. Promising ‘free refreshments, familiar faces and a f*ckload of fun’, the birthday celebration kicks off at 5pm and continues right through to the early hours, with DJs playing hip hop, funk, house, disco and party joints throughout. So join Gorilla for what will no doubt be yet another great night out.
