Acclaimed saxophonist and band leader Julian Argüelles brings his celebrated quartet to Band On The Wall on 2 September, possessing a reputation for world class post-bop stretching back over three decades. Noted by the Guardian as “one of Europe’s most inventive saxophonists”, Argüelles is currently out on the road supporting his fifteenth album as a leader, ‘Tonadas’. Known for his excellent collaborations, his latest tour sees him backed up live with an adventurous and inspiring quartet, featuring some of the UK’s best young jazz talent. Taking inspiration from South African traditions, European influences and his own Spanish roots, the saxophone supremo’s latest record has been met with the usual acclaim his work is used to by the jazz community.
