This is an early heads-up for a popular event that’s returning in early summer. The King Street Festival, which celebrates that iconic shopping street, will take place over the first weekend in June. The exact itinerary isn’t out just yet, but it will feature live music, alfresco dining, and bars with craft ale and prosecco. The street’s many high-end retail stores and restaurants will be joining in the fun with exclusive VIP events, goodie bags, discounts and other promotions. The festival also features the return of the Manchester Flower Show. If you don’t recall the last show, that’s no surprise: It was 15 years ago. This will have pocket gardens in the street’s parking bays, and other green installations dotted around the place. Readers with green fingers take note: The organisers are looking for entrants now. Rounding out the weekend will be walking tours, crazy golf and the chance to win a luxury holiday to Mauritius.
