There was a collective tear shed by the Northern Quarter last week as it was announced that the Koffee Pot would be closing down. But that tear rolled down the area’s metaphorical cheek and nestled safely in its brush of a make-believe beard shared by the hipster capital of Manchester, as the Koffee Pot quickly let on that they would be moving to a fresh location: one even more in the heart of the Northern Quarter, which they have seen flourish from their Stevenson’s Square abode. They shall take up residence in the old Ryan’s Vintage space on Oldham Street, dangerously close to The Castle and Gullivers (a regular haunt for the café’s staff after they finish for the day). They will have the same great menu (featuring the best breakfast in town) as well as a few extras (cured hot salt beef bagels), more space, later opening hours, card payment and even a toilet! What a time to be alive 2015 will be.

Koffee Pot on Hilton Street will close on Fri 20 Dec and re-open in Jan 2015 on Oldham Street.
