Parkers Arms in Clitheroe has been named the best gastropub in the UK.
The Top 50 Gastropubs awards have been running since 2009, the list is created by collecting votes from more than 100 industry professionals, with judges comprising leading pub businesses, editors and food writers across the UK.
The Lancashire pub which is particularly famous for its pies tops the latest rankings thanks to its stunning idyllic location in Newton-in-Bowland and beautiful local produce that ‘puts flavour and experience above all else’
Chef-patron Stosie Madia and her business partner Kathy Smith were praised for transforming the pub into one of the best in the country since taking over in 2007.
Other nearby pubs that were celebrated include The Freemasons in Wiswell, which came in at third, and the ever-popular Pack Horse at Hayfield reached number 18. The Shibden Mill Inn in Halifax came in at 15 while the sadly now-closed Moorcock Inn took the 21 spot.
