Catch some unique digital delights when Texture’s Test Card series showcases some of the best audio-visual artists in the world. The multimedia event makes use of the Northern Quarter venue’s state-of-the-art projection system, and with only three events left before the end of the year, you should snap up tickets now. With unmissable talks in the pipeline, there’s also a chance to scratch beneath the software and learn the creative processes behind some pretty spectacular shows. Test Card Live 12: The Light Surgeons
The Light Surgeons have blazed a trail with groundbreaking multimedia shows and now bring a specially-made new piece to Texture. The experimental filmmakers rose from the London club scene to create large-scale installations across the world from Kuala Lumpur to Coventry. Support comes from Cromatouch & Coral, who use coded signals to create their live visuals, and from Mark Pilkington’s Hidden Forest which plunges the viewer into an algorithmic eco-world – see trailer below.

Test Card Talk: EBH Luminaire + Sam Wiehl
Explore behind the pixels with the first of two talks from large-scale event experts. EBH Luminaire carry two decades of visual effects experience, with reels of tour imaging, music videos and art installations under their belt. They will be joined in conversation by the artistic director of Liverpool’s International Festival of Psychedelia Sam Wiehl who has styled sound and light for Matthew Herbert, Forest Swords, The Coral and Jane Weaver.

Test Card Talk: Weirdcore + Aszyk
Aphex Twin’s visual artist Weirdcore joins Test Card to talk about his work with the legendary Cornish producer, alongside his eye-popping projects for M.I.A, Miley Cyrus, Charlie XCX and more. He’s even worked in the worlds of fashion and opera, as well as producing his own visual spectaculars. Discover how technology drives creativity and the very boundaries of consciousness. The night will finish with a showcase from Test Card favourite Aszyk.
