The Portico Library’s acclaimed exhibition A Northern Narrative will come to an end after this week. The exhibition, created in collaboration with County Galleries of Altrincham, showcases four artists who have been brought together for the first time: David Alderman, David Coulter, Peter Stanaway and Amrik Varkalis. Each of these renowned and highly collectible artists is presenting an entirely new body of work, including a large canvas piece created exclusively for the exhibition. The pieces are all inspired by the region, and aim to give voice to the people of the north. The gallery of the 19th Century Portico Library, situated under a decorative glass dome, is a unique space for artists to exhibit their works, and for visitors to appreciate them.
