Beer fans hoping to quench their thirst at the UK’s leading independent beer festival will need to act quickly to snap up tickets for this October’s event. Renowned for their world class brewers, live music street food and more – both remaining days promise a platter of intriguing extras, so stay tuned for news. The opening IndyManBeerCon salvo on Thursday night offers first dibs on this year’s crop of the hops, while the curtain-closing Sunday afternoon session is chance to reflect and repose in the labyrinthine Victoria Baths’ welcoming surrounds. The ornate Grade II*-listed Edwardian swimming complex has plans afoot to refill its pools, but for the time being the only refills will be your pint glasses, with Cloudwater, Beavertown, Northern Monk, Fourpure and Siren all signed up to host their own fuelling stations within the building. Countless other ales blending all manner of hops and malts will be on the drinks menu, while this year’s IMBC will for the first time feature Thirsty Games, a bar dedicated to the best new brewers ales (deadline for entering this competition is 15 July – read more). You can vote for your favourite newbie during the long weekend, so taste buds at the ready.
