Edinburgh Festival kicks off this Thursday and will see most of Manchester’s comedians heading north for the whole month of August. Luckily, some will be hanging around and, to showcase these homebodies, Justin Moorhouse (pictured) is returning once more to the Chorlton Irish Club with a host of great comedians. Past line-ups have included a surprise appearance from Jason Manford as well as top sets from the likes of Rob Rouse and Steve Shanyaski, and this Friday’s line up is also a cracker. Joining Moorehouse are double headliners Alex Boardman and Barbara Nice. Boardman’s unique brand of flattery and abuse will sit well next to Barbara Nice’s ‘world’s funnest auntie’ schtick. With support from Katy Truelove, Penella Mellor and Andrew Ryan, the £15 price tag is well worth it, especially since it includes a pasty supper.
