Firm Lowry favourites Le Navet Bete are to return to the theatre following past successful productions such as Dick Tracy and Dracula: The Bloody Truth. The theatre company are set to bring a twist on an old favourite with their version of the three musketeers story. ‘The Three Musketeers: A Comedy Adventure’ follows D’Artagnan as he aims for the French capital with his trusty baguette, a short fuse, and a desire to be a famous musketeer. It is unlikely that events will be straightforward for the potential hero in this co-production with Exeter Northcott Theatre that sees 4 actors take on the roles of over 30 characters and a huge amount of costume changes. The production will veer between pantomime, theatre, and slapstick with a nod to the Monty Python school of comedy. This aims to be a thoroughly modern retelling of a two century old story that plays fast and loose with its source material.
