Are you a Leap Day baby? Less than 0.007% of the world’s population are, with those born on February 29 supposedly infused with an extra dose of luck. This year, that mantra looks set to be true as Airport City celebrates the scarcity of Leap Day babies by giving those born on 29 February a foodie treat during FarFlungFriday. This one-off event will be taking place at the Platform Event Space on Friday 28 February between 11:30am and 2pm and all you need to do is bring valid certification with proof of your birthday. There will be four local food traders present, so there will be plenty of free foodie treats to choose from. Looking for a little extra Leap Day trivia? Leap years were first instigated by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582 as part of the Gregorian calendar and as a way to try and sync calendars with the time taken for the Earth to orbit the sun.
